Levi Village Centre is compact, with the wider resort spreading out around it. Most areas are within around a 10-minute drive of each other, and ski buses connect the main parts of the resort in winter. It’s very possible to enjoy Levi without a car — the best way to get around simply depends on where you choose to stay.
The best part: how you get around can be the experience. If you’re staying up at the Village or West Point you can ski straight to the lifts and back to the door. Cross-country trails link the fell to the village. A snowmobile is how you reach the wilderness a car can’t. Below is every honest option — walking, the ski bus, the gondolas, skis, bikes, snowmobiles, car hire and taxis — with the local operators for each.
Most of Levi village is walkable — paths are cleared and lit in winter, dry in summer. With warm layers and grip-soled boots the cold isn't the obstacle people expect. In fact, walking is one of the loveliest ways to take it all in — through snow-covered trees, soft winter light and the quiet of the Arctic landscape.
In winter, keep an eye out for the kick sled (potkukelkka) — a Finnish stand-on sled you push along packed snow and ice. Many cabins and hotels keep a few for guests to borrow, and they make the short hop to the shop or a neighbour’s cabin genuinely fun. No hire desk needed; ask where you’re staying.
Levi’s ski bus runs from late November to mid-April, connecting the village centre with the main residential areas and ski lift centres on a published timetable. It’s an easy way to move between your accommodation, the slopes and the centre without needing to drive.
Larger hotels also run their own shuttles (ask at booking, not on arrival), and scheduled coaches connect Levi with the wider region.

Levi’s Ski Bus makes getting to and from the slopes simple, affordable, and stress-free — whether you’re staying in the village centre or in one of the surrounding accommodation…

Levi’s gondolas are transport as much as sightseeing. The Levi Express links the village with the Panorama area up the fell, and Gondola2000 carries you to the summit — skiers and boarders in winter, hikers and bikers in summer.
It’s the quickest way up the fell without skis on your feet, and the view on the way is the point.

The Levi Express Gondola is the scenic cabin lift that connects Zero Point in Levi Village with the front slopes near Hotel Levi Panorama and the Summit event centre.

For breathtaking views and relaxed mountain travel, the Gondola2000 scenic cabin lift is a must-experience in Levi. It glides along the western side of Levi Fell and carries…
The most Levi way to get around is on skis. Ski-in, ski-out accommodation lets you clip in at the door, drop to the lifts and glide home — no bus, no walk in ski boots.
Beyond the slopes, hundreds of kilometres of cross-country track thread the fell and the forest, linking the resort areas and the village. Rent skis for a few days and the trail network becomes your road map. Book a lesson if it’s new to you.

Everything on this page is a decision — which bus, whether to hire a car, how to reach a husky farm at eight in the morning with two children and a pushchair. A concierge takes the lot off you: transfers booked, timings that work, and someone in Levi to call when the weather changes them.
In winter, fat bikes — with oversized, low-pressure tyres made for snow — are the greatest way to explore Levi’s winter trails and reach areas beyond the village centre without a car. This is how locals get around for short journeys all year.
In summer, mountain and e-bikes open up the gondola downhill trails, the lakeside loops and the Levi Bike Park. Several shops hire by the half-day, day or week, and most will set the bike up for the season and conditions.
