Where Levi is, and which airport is closest

Levi sits in Kittilä, Finnish Lapland, about 170 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Levi's own airport is Kittilä (KTT) — a small, well-run terminal roughly 15 kilometres and 15 minutes from the resort, served by direct winter flights from the UK and Europe.

Rovaniemi (RVN) has more flights year-round but is about two hours south by coach. You can also connect through Helsinki, or take the night train to Rovaniemi or Kolari and finish by bus.

Which airport is closest to Levi?

Kittilä Airport (KTT), about 15 kilometres away — roughly 15 minutes by transfer or taxi. It is small but well run, and the closest airport to Levi.

Can I fly direct to Levi?

Direct winter flights from several UK and European cities land at Kittilä, which serves Levi. There is no separate airstrip in the village itself.

How far is Levi from Rovaniemi, Kittilä and Helsinki?

Kittilä is 15 kilometres away, about 15 minutes. Rovaniemi is roughly 170 kilometres south, near enough two hours by coach. Helsinki is a domestic flight away, around 1 hour 25 minutes in the air plus the onward transfer.

What is the cheapest way to get to Levi?

Usually a fare into Rovaniemi, then the airport shuttle into town and the Lapland coach north — from around €35 for the bus leg.

Is there a train to Levi?

Not to Levi directly. The night train from Helsinki runs to Rovaniemi or Kolari, and a coach covers the last stretch. Kolari is the shorter onward leg, about an hour and a quarter.

How long does it take to get to Levi from the UK?

On a direct winter charter to Kittilä, around four hours in the air plus the 15-minute transfer. Via Helsinki, allow most of a day once you include the connection.
